Silk Flowers and Plants in Interior Design

We furnished the shared spaces of a new 15-storey residential building: the lobby café, residents’ lounge and terrace, workrooms, workshop, guest room and sauna terraces. The days were long, but it was a pleasure to see our interior design take shape and experience the finished spaces.

Plants and planters with presence

The residents’ lounge called for a welcoming focal point. We chose plants and planters to complement the colours and lines of the furniture. White ceramic vessels held arrangements of tall silk flowers in a restrained palette, bringing a graceful finish to the room.

A warmer welcome in shared spaces

Shared residential spaces are at their best when they feel inviting as well as useful. Warm tones and considered greenery helped create a more welcoming atmosphere, with silk plants placed both indoors and on the terraces.

Greenery can bring a sense of calm and soften the lines of an interior. Today’s well-made silk flowers and plants also offer a convincing impression of living foliage, with natural-looking colour and detail.

Silk plant walls with a personal touch

Two workrooms needed a little more colour and character, so we created plant walls measuring one square metre each. Starting with ready-made foliage panels, we added a selection of flowers, plants and leaves to bring depth and a more natural, individual finish.

Silk plants were also chosen for the lobby, residents’ lounge, guest room and sauna terraces. They brought a touch of greenery to these settings without the need for watering or regular plant care. The outdoor varieties were selected for their lifelike appearance.

Silk flowers and plants are a practical choice for spaces where regular plant care is difficult. Their lasting appeal depends on the quality of the materials, how they are used and cared for, and how long they remain in use.
